Happy New Year! We are now Scottsdale Football & Cheer!
We are excited about the positive changes going on for 2018. In the fall we will begin playing in NYS. As a league, they offer levels of play and the number of teams we are looking for as a youth football & cheer association.
What does it mean for our families?
Game schedule is better - We will start later in the year hoping for cooler temperatures
Practice schedules are better - 3x week vs. 5x week to start year
More home games, plus many times teams will all travel/home together for multi-player households
Away games closer to home
NO FUNDRAISING – one price gets the whole season!
Smaller teams – Competitive & Developmental at each age group
Cheer opportunity at all age groups – FREE Cheer with Football sibling
Returning player discount during March registration
What do we need to continue the tradition?
We are still 100% volunteer and we need your help – please email us if you can help in any way. Not just football folks, we need help in admin, inventory, accounting, etc.
Still non-profit and take donations to pay for scholarships.
We offer scholarships! No player is left out!
We need volunteer coaches at all levels of Football & Cheer. Interviews in February. If you would like to coach in 2018 - please reply or email firstname.lastname@example.org
Please follow us on social media, share this email with your team from last year, and any friends/classmates interested in playing football & cheer.
What High School Programs are you affiliated with?
We maintain great relationships with most of the local high school coaches & their staffs. They support us with coach education and help us with our off season clinics, additionally many of them provide us low cost fields for games. We find it's best to work with the community as a whole.
Where is practice?
We have several locations we request from the city and school district each year. We find out in late July which fields we have been awarded. Then our coaches choose which is best for their team. This will not be convenient for all parents so we suggest car pooling, especially in August. Traditional sites have been Cholla Park, Chaparral Park, Sereno Perk, Mohave Middle School. Fields will be chosen by coaches once teams are formed in late July.
When is practice?
Teams start practice Mid- August to prepare for the season
Where are your games?
For the 2018 Season, all home games will be at Desert Mountain High School. Away games will be at various sites around the Valley TBD. We work with the league to try to keep as many teams together to take the travel burden off of multi-player families.
